Well tomorrow ( Feb 5th ) is the big day . We leave for Medina Del Compo Spain to volunteer at the SCOOBY shelter for a week. We will be returning Feb 12th and returning with us will be Rocio, Patitas and Erol, 3 lucky Galgos who will be looking for their Forever Homes here in the USA. We will try to keep an updated account of the trip and our experiences there to share and hopefully we will have some interesting photos and video footage to post .
Matrix Tric or Treat Greyhound
•November 6, 2008 • Leave a CommentHello Paula and Everyone at Forever Home,
It’s been a while, but I thought you would all like a quick update on Matrix. He is happy and healthy and spoiled beyond repair! In a nutshell, if I were doing half as well as my dog is, I’d be in great shape!
Matrix sleeps every night snuggled between his mommy and daddy. In fact, one of us usually ends up sleeping with one leg hanging off the bed. Those long legs take up so much darn space! Every night and every morning he receives a full doggy massage. What a way to begin and end every day. He wears only the latest fashions in coats, snoods and martingale collars.
Matrix has two girlfriends. One is Snoopy…she is a brindle boxer-pitbull mix. But his favorite is Brindie…also a retired racer (aka Be Singing). He looooooves having the ladies over. He also spends time with his 3 cousins Monty (golden retriever), King (mix) and Buster (mix) who are all male. He just loves the company of other dogs. Matrix gets along remarkably well with his two feline brothers Max and Sam. It doesn’t happen often, but occasionally we catch them licking each other and sleeping together.
Matrix also enjoys green beans, cheese, squeaky toys (naturally), plain organic yogurt, apples and anything that qualifies as a “treat.” In fact, when we get home from the grocery store, Matrix enjoys scanning the grocery bags and finding his own toy/treat. Sort of like an Easter egg. And of course there is always a toy/treat hiding in a bag for him. It’s so hard to resist the temptations in the pet aisle…especially when your dog is as good as Matrix. Every one that’s meets him…it’s like love at first sight. People just melt around him! Some of our siblings and cousins have small children who claim to be terrified of dogs. Well guess what…even terrified children can’t stop petting him. In fact, we have one sister-in-law who is very picky and over-protective of her 3 children. Matrix is the only animal welcome in her home. His presence was not only requested at their last gathering, but he was invited to spend the weekend in their home. She had the 3 kids pick out some presents for him. He, of course, sniffed them out in under a minute.
Forgive me, but I cannot remember them name of the fine, outstanding lady that fostered Matrix. She did a wonderful job, especially with the kitties, and I would like her to receive this email. If you could forward a copy of this to her that would be wonderful. Matrix has changed our lived is every positive way imaginable. The more time passes, the harder it is to remember life without him. Now we realize that greyhound is more of a lifestyle than a breed.
Attached are some photos for your viewing pleasure. Hope all’s well at Forever Home!
Rich, Chris, Sam, Max and Matrix Sussman
